Glass is Addicting!

Gina received her BA in studio art from NEIU in 1991, with a focus in metalworking. Her adult life took her down a different career path, but her artistic side was dying to get out!

A fusing class given as a present, after discovering Chicago Glass Collective during the Ravenswood Art Walk, led to another class and another... six years later she is fully addicted. She now works out of her home studio and Chicago Glass Collective, where she also serves as studio assistant and instructor.

Gina creates art for the home and body from scraps and pieces of fused glass. No two items are ever alike. Each item is truly handmade. Custom pieces utilizing color themes of preference, as well as shapes, or specific animals, even pet portraits, are also available. The excitement and inspiration from glasswork is infectious.

Gina is also a licensed veterinary technician and has a pet sitting business called Windy Sitting. She loves that she has found glass work as an outlet for her creative side. She occasionally sells her work at art fairs, and out of the CGC gallery. You can also find some of her work at one of the local breweries, Urban Renewal. She has done commission portraits of her client's pets. Many of her animal-themed pieces have been donated to local animal causes.

Gina was adopted at birth and grew up in an artistic household with both of her parents also artists. Her mother was a mosaic artist trained in Italy, as well as a painter and illustrator. Her father has worked with many different mediums and is still painting. His work is shown at Hofheimer Gallery. Her birth mother is a classically trained pianist.

She currently resides in Chicago with her three cats and a pet ball python.
